Good managers know that persuasion is key to being effective, and the most powerful tools don’t depend on having official authority, writes Daniel Sorid. “Just because you don’t have the power to make a decision doesn’t mean you can’t steer its outcome,” he writes. For example, a “savvy employee knows how to order, emphasize and withhold information when making a presentation.”
