		<description>One of the greatest mistakes made by a company that is down-sizing is to neglect those that remain behind. A straightforward exolanation of the need of the lay-offs is better than endless rounds of office gossip. You don&#039;t want to have the best and the brightest jump ship. Many of our accounts use an instrument called the &quot;Workplace Motivation Coach&quot; as a means of re-establishing the communications link and bond between management and staff. A company initiative to invest in the current staff pays big dividends in performance, productivity and positive attitude toward the company.  This is a time when managers should be visable, caring, and focus on coaching and mentoring.
