Twenty-three of the world’s most respected blogging experts will share their strategies with you. Hear from Technorati CEO Richard Jalichandra, Scott Monty (head of social media, Ford), Darren Rowse (co-author, ProBlogger), Brian Clark (Copyblogger), Debbie Weil (author, The Corporate Blogging Book), Douglas Karr (co-author, Corporate Blogging for Dummies), Joe Pulizzi (co-author, Get Content Get Customers), Mari Smith (co-author, Facebook Marketing), Jay Baer (co-author, The Now Revolution), Chris Garrett (co-author, ProBlogger), Dave Garland (author, Smarter, Faster, Cheaper), Mike Volpe (VP of marketing, HubSpot), Rick Calvert (CEO, BlogWorld) and Michael Stelzner (Social Media Examiner)—as well as experts from Sony, McDonald’s, Cisco, Southwest Airlines, and Procter & Gamble.

Presentation topics include developing a blogging strategy, creating engaging content, and how to sell using your blog (just to mention a few!). Check out all the sessions.

At the last summit, 95% of attendees said they’d recommend the event to a friend and attend again.

How can you win tickets?

We have three free tickets to the summit, valued at $597 each and the opportunity to be promoted to more than 130,000 of your peers! And remember, this is an online conference — so no travel is required to participate.

Two ways to win: There are three tickets up for grabs and two ways to win:

#1: Twitter Entry: Simply click the button on the right or tweet what you see below for a chance to win one ticket:

I would love to win this ticket and draw on the experience and knowledge of those successfully navigating the blogosphere! For me, learning how to make the most of SEO is a challenge, but one compounded by learning my way around all the various plug-ins that should b able to make your blog better. Which ones are the best? What is necessary and what is optional? It's questions like these that I need answered!

My biggest challenge is content strategy, I am online all day and love trading FB,Twitter and blogs. That being said I am always unsubscribing from newsletters, tad, blogs as they are just not interesting enough. So once you start a blog, get all your followers, how do you keep them coming back AND passing your writing aloof to their social circles….

My biggest blogging challenge is balancing the need to have content broadcast (Social Media Today and other blog sites) and meeting the needs of a niche audience. Really hard to do both. I blog about communications in higher ed and college athletics, so it's tough to do both.

My biggest challenge is really our team's biggest challenge. We are in the planning stages of a company blog and have so much we want to share–our products, our live conferences for moms, our online classes for students. We are starting from the ground up and trying to plan so in the end we have cohesiveness. We also want to make sure we are taking full advantage of using social tools on our blog. We also want to make maxiumum use of our content–articles from our speaker team, MP3s from our webinars and conferences, YouTube videos–as best we can on our blog. Thank you!

My biggest challenge is content… I3A is a NFP Trade Association supporting the imaging ecosystem. Our members are companies and their staff members participate in our interest groups, committees, projects, etc. — coming up with content that is imaging related and benefits both companies and their employees is difficult (particularly since many of the "participants" are engineers and scientists and the organization does not currently have anyone with technological/scientific expertise on staff at the moment). An additional challenge is time, as I3A currently has only 2 full-time employees and we've had no luck entising our members to write guest posts.

I would have to say that my biggest challenge to moving forward is time. I have 5 of my children still at home so I am not lacking material! I am working and a graduate student as well. My goal is to develop my business and writing enough that I can do that from home and not have to work for someone else. My second biggest challenge is money and for all the same reasons.

    Hi Diane,
I've been designing websites for over a dozen years. The most important thing about any web project is purpose. That's what leads everything.
As far as a host, there's not a lot of difference – I look for good phone support, so if you have a question, it won't take half a day or make you feel like an idiot.
Choosing a web designer – or anyone you want to work with. It's the quality of the work, and personal rapport/trust.
Then it's planning, and more planning. I have free web planning guides on my site (http://www.mintzwebdesign.com) but the most important thing to remember is to keep the purpose in mind, and plan with the most important ideas taking priority.
    Have fun, Margie Mintz

  • Posted by Tammy on January 13th, 2011 at 9:19 am

My biggest blogging challenge is finding creative ways to let people know about our blog. We have great content (I think!) and we are very committed to blogging and helping pet people, but we don't always get the word out. We're jumping in to social media, and using Twitter is proving helpful. But, wading through all of the other ideas, options, costs, etc. to figure out how to draw in traffic is time consuming and overwhelming.

My greatest challenge is not the creation & delivery of content, but choosing the optimal, long-term, sustainable monetization strategy. I blog to provide health-educational material for the consumer. The production of video and written blog content is easy, but as a physician-educator, asking for money is tricky. Not only am I professionally prohibited from endorsing products or providing professional advice, but I really don't want to sell or promote on my educational site other people's products or services, either in the form of affiliate marketing or paid advertising. I want complete transparency: 'no vested interest'. Blogging combined with moving people to a paid membership site is an option, but most people expect FREE.
Winning a Blogging Success Summit ticket should provide great insights about how to balance the GIVE with the GET. @StanGore

My biggest hurdle with our blog is to managing consistent content oriented feedback from our subscribers and tribes of readers. As our blog has continued to evolve with more re-Tweets it's been difficult to get significant interaction with our various questions, topics. Our comments are usually short and sweet and of course very happy with the significant increase of re-tweets as our message is clearly within our target market. We have implemented several strategies with surveys, etc. to change content with success but our goal is to make it more focussed on interaction with comments.

Looking for a long term strategy to build more feedback from our tribe. By the way, great idea for a the winning Blogging Success Summit ticket. Thanks

SEO is another area where I could use some assistance. My biggest blogging challenge for 2011 is the sales funnel and then going out to find the right followers to participate in the sales funnel. I have re-issued my children's books, October 2010, during which time an author platform is being established.
I've been following Social Media Examiner for over a year and implementing their ideas into my blogging. Some of the information involves a technical aspect (sticky page Facebook and Blog) that seems beyond my technical abilities. I'm applying myself and don't mind hearing things more than once.
I'd appreciate and find a ticket to your Blogging Success Summit extremely useful. Thank you for giving me an opportunity towards that end.

What's so important about my post is that the guidelines outlined for creating a blog ALSO applies to creating / writing content for your blog. One of the challenges bloggers face is content, Original content, which is why using the who, why, where, what and how strategies is a great starting point for creating original blog posts that's concise and timeless.

Why would I love the chance to participate in the 2011 Blogging Success Summit? Because I LOVE reading all the tips, tools of the trade, content counsel, etc. They get me totally fired up to blog… to do for all the reasons the pro's suggest. I want to increase readership (OK, so I currently have a total of readership of ONE so there's no where to go but up from there!). So I sit down. Fingers poised. And then, I freeze. For all the reasons everyone cites… time, writer's block, concern if my content is valuable, and the list goes on. Bottom line is I'd REALLY relish the opportunity to participate in such a fantastic event – and it seems to me – if I can't manage to succeed after attending this kind of event – then, well, it's not you. It's me.

My greatest challenge, and therefore opportunity, relates to Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Every time I feel like I am getting a handle on it, one or more of the players change the rules and I am back to the drawing board learning even more. I am certainly glad I have attended Social Media Examiner's classes in the past. I learn many valuable tips and tricks. The information is usually spot on and gives me the added boost of knowledge I needed at the moment. Managing numerous blogs certainly keeps me busy, as does managing a number of writers. I have a few blogging challenges, but one of them is time management. I feel like I have jumped right in and want to be researching, documenting and blogging all of the time (including at work…oops). I would love to learn how everyone else's schedules work when they have a full-time job and also have a personal blog. I would also love to learn more about blogging for businesses and having it as a part-time/at home job.

My biggest blogging challenge? Gosh, where do I begin. I love to write. I feel like I have something to say. I want to inspire and motivate others. I have a blog. I know I need to find my niche, but I'm still not sure what that is yet. I'm desperate to discover where I fit. Add to that, I'm blogging for some other businesses, and I want to help them achieve their goals, drive people to their site, buy stuff or whatever their goal is. Honestly, I want to save the world and I'm pretty sure if I had the right blog I could do just that. But if I could at the very least attend this summit, I'm pretty sure I'd be off to a good start.

Marketing is my passion. I want to immerse myself in all aspects of social media, but I view blogging as the first step in the process. It will give me a space to provide more value to our current clients and of course, prospects. It's my goal to have a blog started for my company by March 1st, so the timing of this unbelievable opportunity is perfect. I wanted to attend the Facebook Summit you offered last fall but was unable to find the time. Now that I have an assistant and have been given the okay by our management to explore social media, I'd love nothing more than to attend this conference. I want to prove to our veteran management that marketing and social media is what we need to bring growth to our business. If I'm able to attend the Blogging Success Summit, it will be my number one priority and I will participate at every chance. Thank you so much for this opportunity.

My biggest challenge is definitely keeping up my blogging. As my business grows I find my time to blog shrinks. I'm looking forward to learning about how others keep to their schedules for blogging.

Thank you for creating this ticket giveaway. I would love to attend the Blogging Success Summit but it just isn't in the budget (actually there is no budget) maybe we will learn how to bring paid sponsors and ads to our blgo through this event. We wrote a post and discussed our Blogging Challenges http://www.twolittlecavaliers.com/2011/01/bloggin….

We are also tweeting to try a ticket that way. Thank you in advance for stopping by our blog.

This is great! I appreciate the chance to win a seat at the summit. Very nice list of contributors! It should be fabulous.

My biggest blog challenge is the time to effectively market my blog. Being creative and consistent is not a problem but building a consistent following for my target market is.

I am a super newbie and I have just launched my online business at the beginning of Nov. Now that I am getting into the social media area I realize that building the website/blog seems like the easier part. Good thing I didn't know that at the time! I am fascinated and overwhelmed with the amount of tools and viral potential of this form of communication and realize that blogging is critical and yet interdependent part of the e-network. This would definitely set a newbie in the right direction and help me to focus on the most critical aspects of blogging as opposed to trying to filter through althe e-maze. For me, this is an opportunity to participate instead of picking up the free bits and post-summit highlights.

My biggest challenge is how to get followers that engage in the conversation. I spend quite a bit of time writing the content and many times adding a video yet I need an audience to enjoy all of it. Thanks for the opportunity to possibly win a ticket.

My biggest Blogging Challenge is writing compelling, relevant and interesting articles for the social consumer. We're husband/wife real estate team doing everything we can to stay on top of the SM world and delivering value to our readers and followers via our Blog. While some are already rumoring that "blogging" is oldschool and no longer essential, we say, it's more essential than ever. The real ROI and value is in HOW you connect all your efforts to your HUB mainly your Blog. So with all that said, it's providing quality content for the quality, social consumer!

My biggest blogging challenge is being able to integrate sales content in with informational. Yes, I know how to include a call to action. What I'm talking about is including within the informational content a way to entice or encourage the reader to purchase without sounding 'salesy'.

My biggest blogging challenge is actually two challenges: getting started & figuring out what type of content to put on my blog. I have been working on setting up a blog for years, but have not "jumped in" yet. I know that it is important for my business to have a blog, but I feel that I need some direction. Also, I want to make sure that I can give visitors content that they want & can use. I want my blog to be a place where people can ask questions & I help them get the answers. I know it sounds like a cliche, but it is true.

Then, after taking part in a webinar on the Jan. 18th (9 Companies Doing Blogging Right and What You Need to Know), I have realized how much something like the summit would benefit myself, my clients, & my business. I would love to attend Blogging Success Summit 2011.

I absolutely would love to win a ticket to the Summit. Learning Social Media Marketing and Blogging is key to success in the Real-Time today. My biggest challenge as of late is the amount of time I spend on Social Media Networking and "Following" and it hinders my content. I so want to be a Blogger with Integrity and be successful, but find that doing this (flying blind) is overwhelming. I spend more than 16 hours a day on the computer in order to just keep current. I would so love to learn ways and ideas to help me get the most bang for my time investment! I know the Summit is a great way to learn this!

My biggest challenge as a sole proprietor is finding the time to get it done. I am balancing writing for clients with blogging to help promote a new business opportunity. I would love to attend this conference as we are just about ready to launch a new blog: Contentforbiz, geared to b-to-b marketers. We would like to get market specific, but targeting to multiple requires more time and resources.
Help! There are not enough hours in the day.

I could say my biggest blogging challenge is any of a number of things–most of which have already been identified in these comments. But, in truth, my biggest challenge is getting our team (including myself) motivated and excited about blogging consistently and strategically. In my opinion, that's more than half the battle. I believe attending this summit would help us overcome this challenge…and, in turn, help improve our blog tremendously–and to the benefit of our association members and industry!

I would say my biggest blogging challenge now is layout. I've been blogging for 2 years and built up a pretty good following in my target market. But in 2 years, things have changed. I know the things I like and the things I don't like on other blogs I visit, but I need more information about what will continue to help me grow my presence and serve my readership well.

Would love to win a seat to the summit!

We are looking to expand the effectiveness and reach of our blog. No one seems to comment on articles, but we're hoping to improve that. Tickets to the Blogging Success Summit would really help us get there.

While my blog is enthusiastically open to the entire planet, my biggest challenge is getting the population nearest to me to understand the value of social media — especially blogging…

I am located in Wilmington, Ohio – The TV show, "60 Minutes," has called us the "ground zero for unemployment." Since May of 2008, our community has gone from very conservative in view and largely uninterested in the online environment, to moderately conservative and opening up to the world outside the county walls.

In a couple of years' time, I have re-educated myself in social media through Social Media Examiner's Social Media Success Summit 2010, Facebook Success Summit 2010, and I have already reserved my ticket for Blogging Success Summit 2011. Each day I receive SmartBrief's updates, and I am constantly reading blogs and searching news to eventually position myself as one respected in the social media-sphere.

At the same time, I've been working to open the minds of business leaders and organizational heads around me. My husband is now back to work, and I've been able to concentrate on re-branding my company, networking in nearby communities, and offering workshops.

Finally, I've worked out a partnership with the Chamber of Commerce to offer free sessions on social media for local business owners and local leaders. And they are opening their minds! We had a pretty good turnout this past Tuesday – Here's a blog post with pictures to give you a look:
    http://ideagirlmedia.com/2011/01/lets-get-social-…

Attendance looks to double for the next session in early February. So, folks are beginning to realize the value and they are listening for more! But blogging is still a bit of a reach for most of my local contemporaries. I'd like to change that!!

As I have already reserved my ticket to Blogging Success Summit, if I were to win, I would give my ticket away in effort to empower others. As I see it, a win/win/win.

Biggest challenge is being smart about how I blog. There are so many different aspects to blogging. Sometimes its about blogging as a business, other times blogging for lead generation. Where is the right place to be, and how to get there. I suppose that is a challenge that even the best face, and so I'm looking forward to hearing how all these industry leaders address this.
    Thanks!

My biggest blogging challenge was my decision NOT to take this course by the deadline.

  • Posted by @imagesgroup on January 21st, 2011 at 9:26 am

For some reason – whether the post was too long, or there was a blip in the sytem, the rest of my post has been lopped off! It went on to say that although I decided not to attend last night, I immediately regretted that decision and registered this morning. The value given in the last two summits has been enormous and the replay videos one of the main reasons for me buying an iPad. I decided not to attend because of an imminent product/business launch and felt that money was too tight to spare for a blogging Summit. I need to learn how to blog in an effective timely manner and build on the blog platform a means of generating extra visitors and traffic to my new business website, which launches soon. While I have benefitted indiectly from the SMSS and the FBSS, by using the knowledge to advise clients how to deploy SM in their own businesses, this time its for me. I need the tools, tricks and tips from the experts to make my new business fly. And Im sure BSS will deliver again.

I've been a blogger for over 3 years and thoroughly enjoy it, but my biggest blogging challenge is getting readers to my posts and keeping them as long term readers and subscribers. Part of the problem is my lack of SEO knowledge and the other part is writing content that is fresh and inviting.
