Many prominent Internet retailers are planning to offer some serious deals this weekend to jump-start holiday spending in a dreary economy. To get the word out about their offerings, many merchants are turning to social networks. In addition to conventional social networks, many specialized deal-hunter sites are helping shoppers make plans for Black Friday. “The key shift in consumer behavior is that consumers now expect to be well-informed and expect to be able to find product information, brand information, deals and discounts,” says Shari Gunn, Kaboodle.com’s vice president of advertising and business development.
