Today’s bonus tracks: Social lays down the law

The Sheriff’s Office in Dutchess County, N.Y., is at the forefront of law enforcement’s social-media use. Instead of just sending out press releases, the office engages citizens via Twitter. Area law enforcement officials also use Citizen Observer to collect anonymous crime tips.  However, some experts suggest that law enforcement officials’ use of social media may raise questions about privacy and productivity.
