SXSW: Fear of missing out, part 1

Without a doubt, the most painful thing about SXSW is the fear of missing out (FOMO). With more than 1,900 bands performing, 200 films screening and 300 panels taking place over the course of one week, it’s a lot to get one’s mind around. And that doesn’t even factor in meetings, blogging and chance encounters with interesting tech developers, entrepreneurs, musicians and actors. The hordes of walking wounded at the Austin airport yesterday were evidence that I wasn’t the only one for whom sleeping and eating didn’t rank on the SX priority list.

Thankfully, our gracious hosts at SXSWi recorded the interactive panels. As those relevant to marketers become available, we’ll point you towards them. Here’s a start:

  • Social Media Marketing. A look at the importance of data and analytics in helping to monetize social media marketing communications. This session includes skills and techniques for improving how you market yourself to present and future customers.

The session was made available as an .mp3 on the conference website, which was subsequently mentioned by Merritt Colaizzi at SmartBlog on Social Media. [...]
