McDonald’s announced it will be among the early partners of an upcoming location-based feature for Facebook, as noted in today’s lead story in SmartBrief on Social Media.
The feature, which should be unveiled in a few weeks, will allow users to check in at McDonald’s restaurants in a manner similar to existing location-based networks such as Gowalla and Foursquare.
Are you interested in using Facebook as location-based network? How will you adapt your Facebook strategy to account for this feature?

Facebook has really got to reign itself in now – forcing us to link info to our profiles, allowing private chats to slip out, and no, I'm not happy with the location-based service. Also thinking of closing my account…
I use FourSquare now, but may leave it if the check-in functionality in Facebook is good. I am for the most part happy with the continued enhancements Facebook has been rolling out.
Really unhappy about Facebook automatically opting users in to instant personalization and social graph apps, and prepared to block anything location-aware they introduce.
On the verge of deleting my account there, honestly.
Couple of small issues- trust and context .. if I have the option, I will opt out.
