Before you say a thing to your audience via social media, ask yourself a handful of simple questions to make sure you really understand your message. Asking what you’re trying to accomplish, who you’re targeting, and why they should care about you will help prevent message confusion, Matt Eventoff notes. Sometimes, events outside your control can create confusion for your audience, so it’s important to have a strong sense of purpose that allows you to respond with clarity. After you have answered those questions you can then figure out what social media platform will allow you to reach those goals. At times your message may resonate across several platforms, but you must remember that there may be different expectations on each one.
